The Lakes Christian College celebrated a milestone in the life of the school on Thursday 1st November.
Formally Kindalin Christian School, it has now been 10 years since the name changed to The Lakes Christian College which has enhanced the profile of the College in the local area.
To mark this occasion, several other special events were incorporated including Grandparents Day and the Opening of the new High School classrooms. Families and friends enjoyed morning tea with the students and staff. The Annual Book Fair in the library was a focus. This was followed by a celebration assembly where students presented items and guest speakers addressed the gathering.
The College was honoured to have the Mayor of Penrith, Councillor Ross Fowler speak about the significance and value of Grandparents; Ms Prue Car, State MP for Londonderry commended the students on their achievement in completing the Premier’s Reading Challenge 2018 and Ms Emma Husar, Federal MP for Lindsay officially opened the new classrooms.
The event culminated with the primary school participating in Australia’s largest music program Music Count Us In by presenting their musical arrangement of ‘One Song’. The College also has souvenirs on sale to mark this special occasion.
