Harrington Park Lake Reserve Youth Play Space was officially opened last month with a family fun event celebration.

The $1.14 million recreational development includes play equipment, specialised areas for skateboarding, bike riding or roller blading, as well as a Ninja Warrior style apparatus.
The event was the first chance for children and young people to try the new facilities and to enjoy a range of activities on offer.

Mayor Peter Sidgreaves said the opening celebration marked an important milestone for Council.
“This new youth play space was the first of our major parks projects to open in 2018, followed by Sedgewick Reserve Youth Space and Curry Reserve Water Play Park” Cr Sidgreaves said.

“We are extremely proud of this facility and look forward to seeing families and children visit the space” he said.

“I encourage all residents to come along and enjoy some outdoor time with their families”.

“By providing new and interactive recreational spaces, Council aims to set a strong foundation that will accommodate for growth and our future communities” he said.

The opening event included face painting, garden games, jumping castles, parasol painting and live music.
Staff from RecAlley were on hand to teach kids how to use the new outdoor equipment and a sausage sizzle and other food stalls were available.

The park is located at Harrington Park Lake Reserve, corner of The Northern Road and Fairwater Drive, Harrington Park. Parking is available at Narellan Sports Hub, Porrende Street, Narellan.
