Wollondilly’s newest and exciting destination is due to open this month, with Horse and Harpy opening within the grounds of Silverdale Church.

Horse and Harpy is a vintage boutique horse float that has been lovingly restored and parked alongside the heritage-listed local church, with incredible views across the valley. They are geared up for coffee and delicious snacks to be served to the local community. There are also plans for a second float to be turned into a mobile bar in the future and catering beautiful grazing platters to the surrounding area.

The centre piece of Horse and Harpy will be Silverdale Church. The ‘pretty little weatherboard church’ which was first known as All Saints, was a place of worship in Silverdale between 1906 and 2016.

“It all started when we bought a church. It just happened; it was flowing. The dream was a home which soon evolved when an old idea was given a fresh perspective” said Jacob Golding of Horse and Harpy.

“We are a mobile food vendor with an incredible base that is in front of the cutest church with a view to die for. Our coffee is second to none and our simple menu has something for everyone. We are sure to become a must stop for locals and weekenders exploring the Wollondilly area” smiled Jacob.

An iconic project is underway to preserve and extend the heritage-listed church, with recent approval to add a residential extension to the site.

“We are still looking for interested tradies who would like to be involved with the project. This is a once-in-a-lifetime project to have in your portfolio” Jacob explained.
