This year marks the 13th year of Damfest, with the great community event being held on Sunday the 21st of October at the Warragamba Recreation Reserve in Warragamba.

Damfest is a free event and is organised and presented by a sub-committee of the Warragamba Silverdale Neighbourhood Centre (WSNC). It began in Warragamba town centre as a way for all local community and sporting groups to fundraise on a grand scale. The event outgrew the town centre and was moved to the Recreation Reserve to cater to its continued expansion.

In the last few years, Damfest has seen its attendance numbers increase along with the variety of things to see and do. The event now includes live entertainment, car show, bike show, swap meet, Emergency Services displays, market stalls and amusement rides.

There will be fun for the kids throughout the day with reptile shows, working dog displays, sheep shearing and KindiFarm, along with face painting and live characters to entertain everyone.

Jake Rattle’n’Roll will be live on stage along with the Rockabilly dancers. There will also be an appearance from Short Notice.

The community stage will include performances from Warragamba Public School, a local dance group, line dancing displays and more.

“It’s not too late to book a market stall for Damfest and to join Warragamba Silverdale Neighbourhood Centre and pre-purchase your discount rides wristband for a great day of fun” said WSNC’s Lee Hodder.
Wollondilly Mayor Judy Hannan will again be MC for the day.

“We would like to thank all our local businesses who support this event every year. Without you, this event would not be possible” said Sandra Harlor from the organising committee.

“This year we would also like to thank our major sponsors Allam Property Group, WaterNSW, Uniting and Wollondilly Shire Council” she added.

Dam fun for everyone! Damfest opens at 10:00am till 4:00pm. Gates open at 6:00am for the swap meet and 8:00am for the car show and bike show. Pre-purchased rides wristbands are $25 each for WSNC members – join now. For more information or to book a stall, call Lee on 4774 1273.
