Gregory Hills Netball Club are set to have their best season yet in 2019, with the local club growing in player numbers and fast becoming a threat in the Campbelltown District Netball Association Competition.

The club fielded 5 teams with 45 players last season. Of the 5 teams that took the court, 3 fought hard to make the finals, with 1 team winning a premiership, 1 a runner up and 1 making the semi-finals. This was an amazing feat for a club of this size that only formed in 2015. Their Mixed Lollies players were also fortunate to play at half time at a Giants Netball home game, which was a huge highlight.

“Last season was great for the club. We expect to have 7 teams this year, which is approximately 65 players.

The club is growing rapidly, which is exciting” said Deb Turner from the Gregory Hills Netball Club.

They plan to further develop their young umpires, along with their new Net Set Go players who play modified rules netball.

“They are the potential growth of our club, so our focus is on them this year” Deb told the Oran Park Gazette.

The 2019 season, which begins soon, promises to be very exciting for the players, coaches and families coming together for the mighty club.

The club welcomes new and existing players anytime. For more information, you can contact them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ghnc1 or via email at ghnc1@outlook.com.
