Glenmore Park Football Club have placed a call out to the local community to donate used and no longer needed football boots.
Throughout the year, the club receives a number of requests for donations of used football boots from our community.
“We decided to collect due to interest from our soccer community. Every year, we are offered old boots that children have grown out of. Our parents wanted to give back” said Chris Guy, Secretary of Glenmore Park Football Club.
Local resident, Elise Ellabban commented “This is a fantastic initiative. Between the active kids’ voucher and boots available to those in need, sport is accessible to more kids than ever”.
Glenmore Park Football Club hopes this initiative sparks interest from all Nepean District clubs, to follow suit and do the same in their community.
As families face rising living costs, sporting accessories needed can place a strain on family finances. By providing boots to players, the club is alleviating some of the financial burden.
If you would like to donate boots you no longer need, visit the Club’s canteen on Saturday and Sunday’s located at “The Nest”, Parkway Avenue in Mulgoa Rise. For more information, visit www.glenmoreparkfootballclub.com.au or like them on Facebook.
